'Outremer', to the medieval mindset, literally meant 'the place accross the sea, a place of opportunity. The first crusades to the Middle East from 1098 onwards represented much in the way of spiritual 'salvation' (if the 'Pope's Indulgence' would allow) for commoner and aristocrat alike, and the chance to procure some hard won gold and treasures rife in these fabulous lands of the Middle East: namely Jerusalem and Palestine...such was the nature of 'Crusade'. The lute piece is a common thread of music that wove amidst the battle and turmoil: an inner place of meditation, reflection, coming to terms with the Human Condition amidst the horrors of war between cultures.

The track was originally recorded as an improvisatory lute piece based on twelth-century themes, centered upon the First and Second Crusades (1098-1105). It featured among the music recorded for The Life and Times of the Real Robyn Hoode (with Sean himself playing Robyn!), directed by Mark Olly, released under Mythco Productions. (The DVD is also available from the Leafblade Bandcamp store)

Whilst delivering well crafted music, unless you focus on the lyrics, you could miss the story lines. This is the last of the war trilogy, so subtle ,but so poignant. Superb music with broken road and Holding On ,on permanent repeat. Listen and become enthralled. Top quality song writing and musicianship.10/10 kzra

As with previous releases this is a solid album from start to finish which continues the storyline, themes and signatures perfectly. 'Enigma' and 'Another Same' are on par with or superior to many commercial offerings by established prog artists. The Waters, Wilson and Hayward influences shine through once more but I also hear song writing very much in the style of Difford and Tilbrook, 'Trough of War' & 'Another Same' probably being the best examples.
