Mannaseech's Dance Through the Feathers

by Leafblade

/
1.
I see the sun, and in her fire, I drown my heart with my soul's desire. Through Shaman's eyes, the skies I soar; Sweet eagle and deer I have been before! Barefoot over virgin earth, The stench I breathe, of the minds without mirth. Once blinded by the sunlight, I dream through the feather-shrouded realm of night! Through Shaman's eyes, the skies I soar!

about

Long, long ago in the dark of the year 2016, Leafblade released "Mannaseech's Dance Through the Feathers": an atmospheric acoustic track that we used as a testing ground/learning experience, beginning our first forays into self-production and true independence. Distributed specifically to longtime fans on release, now available to all via Bandcamp.

The lyrics for the track are taken from a poem composed by Sean, part of a series of writings following the Shaman Mannaseech. The full series of poems, 7 in all, are collected and included in pdf format with every download.

Sean speaks about "Mannaseech's Dance Through the Feathers":

"The series of poems that accompany Mannaseech's Dance arose throughout the 1990s amidst studies and meditations central to themes in altered states of consciousness and Shamanism. Musically, the rainbow and visionary colours gave rise to experiments in a combination of 'Celtic' themes and ambient backdrops. A new departure for Leafblade, but an opener to the more ambient side of Leafblade's 'nature-mystical' themes, and the interaction between poetic or Shamanic consciousness and the life and memory in the sacred land."
