It Seems That I’ve Found… “When a man is fighting mad, Something drops from eyes long blind, He completes his partial mind, For an instant stands at ease, Laughs aloud, his heart at peace…” W.B. Yeats I have seen what you see – I have done what you do – I once lost what you lose; I once killed what you kill. You’ve got to listen to the river Flowing through your veins, And tell me that it’s true. I can see all your pain; Every cut, again and again – And you know, when everything’s fine, You live the lie, and soak it with wine. You’ve got to listen to the river Flowing through your veins, And tell me that it’s true. I see you drowning, Deep from sight… Such a weary load; It’s time you learned To enthrone yourself; Take the forest road. You choose a different Face each day; Belies the blood inside, But I can see right through Your masks, Your secret life beside. I can feel what you feel, I can touch what you touch; And you know? You’re such a drag. Seize some life, Way off my map. Just go escape your dull emotions, For the centre of yourself is all you know. Seems that I’ve found my temper… Seems that I’ve found my blood.

The Kiss of Spirit and Flesh I’ve got something here… Something worse than fear, And it aches and it breaks, And yearns for life… With such livid eyes, Love has rent the skies, And though such passion’s afire, My god-light yearns. If my fall from grace, is to touch your face, Deny my island will With such a caress; With the stars as near, I’ll overcome my fear, And fall…fall, To those Arician vales. From my wildwood of heart, Sweet solitudes apart, The Muse has danced my blood; From a deep lonely land, To suddenly take your hand, Casts me between the worlds… In those early hours, When the poetry flowers, As though a lifetime of silence Has come to this… In those early hours, Deep in midnight’s bowers, Comes a touch… The ghost of your flesh…vivid eyes… From across the miles, Wreathed in glowing smiles, It warms, and dazzles, And dazzles and dazzles… A gift to enrapture the flesh. Mesmerised, I my passions awake, The wind may scatter my thoughts to the brake, Where night is lost to dream! To have danced, To have lived and loved, Is, in this dew-drop life, A god-song, a play, With laughter that beckons and screams! Soft, sweet flower, let me enter… Every part of you, your secrets, your dreams… Flesh and spirit intertwined, Wild oak and ivy, moon-struck and loved…
